LAW ENFORCEMENT

In a time of deep social division, we not only need for police to have good relations with the public, we also need for the best public safety efforts to be coordinated. Our aim is to invest in this community to support law enforcement  as they interrupt violence.

Kindness Citations

We participate in World Kindness Week. Once a year, we give officers the opportunity to cite community members with Kindness Citations. This has been effective to lift community morale and build connections between law enforcment and cititzens.

Kindness Week Worldwide affords a unique opportunity to reveal the true heart and character of our communities through a unifying demonstration of the inherent goodness possessed by all! As humanity’s greatest asset, Kindness is a choice that should be universally encouraged, recognized, rewarded, and celebrated!

During Kindness Week Worldwide, the mobilization of school systems, service organizations, colleges, businesses, faith-based communities, ecosystems, and others is encouraged to express, display, and promote Kindness through volunteerism, charity, and other means limited only by the bounds of imagination and creativity!

Stories of kindness are invited to be reported and shared on www.kindnessworldwide.org and its social pages via designated hashtags: #KindnessWorldwide, #KindnessWeekOfficial, #ExtraMileForKindness, #KindnessWeekWorldwide, and #KindnessCommunityCollab.

De-escalation Training

The York County Safety Collab funds and facilitates twice yearly de-escalation training for law enforcement agencies in York County. The motto of the York County Safety Collab is “safer together.” For us, that means everyone. We want all citizens of York County to feel safer. We want all of our police officers to feel safer. We want visitors to our county to feel safer. This training is one of the best tools we can offer our law enforcement to ensure that goal is realized.

Officer Wellness

York County is home to more than 600 police officers and sheriff’s deputies — each one dedicated to keeping our communities safe. The heartbreaking loss of four officers in 2025 reminds us of the risks they take every day to protect the rest of us.

A recent wellness survey of York County law enforcement revealed high levels of stress, fatigue, and trauma along with overwhelming support for expanded wellness programs. They want and need more support.

Your gift makes a difference. It provides mental health, wellness, and recovery resources for York County’s officers and their families across the entire county. Together, we can help keep our heroes healthy.

Our officers take care of us — now it’s our turn to take care of them.
